Eden Scott's client is looking to hire a Designer based in Aberdeen.
Role Summary/Purpose:
Designer role is a key function within the Drilling Systems department. The role is a technical design position working within a design team, responsible for interpreting product Engineers work instructions and produce high quality work packages (Drawings, specs). Produce design work using design software (ACAD and Pro-Engineer), Generation of BOM’s in EPIMS and any other additional design requirements to successfully execute high quality work packages.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Company Policies and Procedures.
- Produce Layout drawings by means of either Pro-E or ACAD under direction of Product engineer.
- Prepare assembly and detailed models by means of either Pro-E or ACAD under direction of Product engineer.
- Prepare hydraulic schematics, Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s), by means of either Pro-E or ACAD under direction of Product engineer.
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), by means of EPIM’s, under direction of Product engineer.
- Assist in identifying and ensuring equipment is designed in accordance with the current Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.
- Participate in design reviews where required.
- Identify improvements in existing products, procedures and processes and develop cost effective solutions to satisfy customer specifications.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- ONC or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
- Appropriate Industrial experience of which some part should be industry related in relevant products.
- Product design experience in Oilfield Drilling and or Production Equipment.
- Proven track record of achievement in previous roles.

- Ability to communicate effectively to peers and engineering team.
- Ability to function under pressure and complete work packages to tight schedules.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and PC operations under Windows.
