WG4052 Senior Wind Turbine Engineer
Location: Swindon, Wiltshire
Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience
The Senior Wind Turbine Engineer is responsible for providing engineering expertise for electrical systems of Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) throughout all phases of the project life-cycle to ensure a robust, reliable, compliant and cost effective WTG fleet for our clients’ offshore wind farms.
We are looking for electrical engineers to undertake challenging and responsible roles on our projects based in Hamburg, Germany or Swindon, UK.
Main responsibilities
Project expert for electrical systems of WTGs
Coordination of all work package specific tasks
Collaboration with other departments (quality, operations, etc.) and key stakeholder relationships (partners, regulatory authorities, etc.)
Market research, performance of technical due diligence and technical evaluation of WTG suppliers on the market as well as assessment of different WTG design concepts, technical solutions and associated risks with focus on electrical systems
Development of tender documentation related to the electrical systems of WTGs, evaluation of engineering competence of received tenders and negotiation of technical WTG specifications
Assessment of WTG design documentation of electrical systems
Monitoring the entire design phase and running design review meetings
Resolution of engineering issues related to the electrical systems of WTGs for all project phases
Assessment of WTG instructions and test and inspection requirements regarding engineering issues for manufacture, installation, commissioning and operation
Performance of engineering quality audits as well as non-conformance and repair assessments related to electrical systems of WTGs during manufacture, installation, commissioning and operation
Accompany and actively support all on-site activities with engineering expertise
Analysing WTG operation data and proactively investigation for continuously improvements of operation and maintenance measures for WTGs
Participation in root cause analysis of WTG related issues and derive adequate measures
Ensuring highest level of quality and safety standards
Development of in-house standards
Key Skills & Experience
Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering
Significant experience in Electrical Engineering (generators, power converters, power transformers, electrical switchgear, cables, etc.), experience in WTG technology would be advantageous
Willingness to develop and employ knowledge in all aspects of WTG design
Experience of project management for energy, wind or gas and oil industry projects
Strong coordination and leadership skills, highly motivated, confident and resourceful
Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, able to drive innovative and strategic thinking
Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively within a multicultural project team
