The Maintenance Engineer is to carry out the day to day repairs on machinery to ensure the production targets are met and to ensure that TPM is carried out in accordance with the appropriate schedules. The Maintenance Engineer must be apprentice trained with a mechanical or electrical bias. The Engineer must have maintenance experience in a mass production environment, preferably In the automotive industry, for at least two to three years. The Maintenance Engineer will have experience of Hydraulics and pneumatics and fault finding. The Engineer will have a good understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment. The Maintenance Engineer Ideally will have had training in robot PLC’s specifically Mitsubishi. They should be able to demonstrate a track record of continual improvement in maintenance procedures.

Main duties and Responsibilities
• To be responsible for carrying out day to day repairs both mechanically and electrically on machinery to ensure that the production targets are met.
• To be responsible for plant maintenance, respond to breakdowns and to carry out TPM work as scheduled.
• To provide electrical, instrumentation and other engineering support on continuous projects.
• To contribute to the TPM schedule and suggest improvements where appropriate
• To be able to run PLC controls, troubleshoot and PLC related continuous improvement projects.
• To be able to work under the Maintenance Supervisor’s instruction and to act under their own initiative.
• To be able to train Operators and other members of the Maintenance teams in basic maintenance skills as appropriate.
• To ensure that all Health & Safety practices are adhered to by both themselves and by other team members.
• To ensure that all tasks comply to Health & Safety requirements and, where necessary, areas are isolated and made secure before commencing work and made safe during work and on completion.
• To ensure that any hazardous materials used or created during any tasks performed are disposed of in the required manner according to environmental
• Any other reasonable tasks, as required.
• To ensure equipment is capable of running at its optimum speed.
• To ensure health & safety is paramount to prevent accidents and subsequent claims.
• To meet customer demands, internally and externally, on time and at the right quality.
• To constantly improve and develop the process to ensure an efficient operation
• To carry out any other duties, relevant to the post which may arise.
Experience and Skills
