My client is a world leader within its niche area of advanced materials. They provide a range of products which are supplied into about 30 different and diverse market sectors which include automotive, aerospace, oil and gas, medical, environmental and construction.
The business has the required agility that an innovation business needs. It turns over about $500m, employs 3500 people, sells into 70+ countries and has offices in EMEA/including UK, Asia, North and South America. It also has the support of its key shareholder (T/O $15bn).
This is a very interesting time to join the business, due to genuine innovation opportunities. The business has the opportunity to make a significant step forward by both growing existing markets but also by creating new solutions and therefore new markets.
Central to achieving their overall objectives is the introduction of world class operating standards, continuous improvement and creating efficiencies which drive out supply chain costs.
This new role has been created to be responsible for the entire procurement of the group including raw materials, services and capital expenditure.
The role will sit within the newly formed “Group Technical Function” operating through a complex matrix structure you will be tasked with establishing an effective global procurement strategy, optimising a global materials sourcing option, the continual reduction of raw material costs and ensuring that suppliers adhere to world class manufacturing techniques.
