Senior Mechanical Engineer – Water Industry

Nelson, Caerphilly (South Wales)

c£40,000 Plus Annual Bonus, Pension Scheme, 25 Days’ Holiday + Bank Holidays

Our client is responsible for providing an essential public service to more than 3 million people and looking after £25 billion of assets. They’re now seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join them.



This role offers a unique opportunity to a proficient mechanical engineer with experience in the water industry to join their highly skilled team within their asset strategy and planning teams.



As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the development of technical and design specifications in relation to water supply and waste water services.



You will own the mechanical input into the overall asset strategy and planning, including reviewing scheme designs and cost in accordance with specification and asset strategy scoping documents.



With your commitment and passion to delivering an excellent customer service, you will manage the key relationships, providing accurate budgets for investment and ensuring the best cost of solutions are identified and promoted, with a focus on benefiting the customers.



Additionally, you will liaise with investment, capital delivery, operations, innovations and energy teams to deliver best practice in mechanical engineering and design solutions to meet required standards and achieve successful outcomes.



To be considered for this position, you must have:



- Substantial experience of working within the water sector

- Sound experience of mechanical engineering, systems and procedures

- An excellent understanding of hydraulic principles associated with pumping plant, pipelines and other networks



As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be able to work with other parts of the business in order to deliver innovative ideas and solutions, whilst driving best practice. Equally important are your excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team and individually.
