Our client provides customers with an unrivalled level of support for the delivery of solutions to hazardous area applications in the global market. Using the latest design technology for their design work, they have over 60 staff focused on providing creative and cost-effective solutions for their customers. An opportunity has now arisen for a Mechanical Engineer / Product Development Engineer to join their team.



Not only is this a fantastic opportunity to work with leading-edge products for customers throughout the world – you’ll be based at our client’s specialist assembly and test facilities that specialises in high quality stainless steel work.



As a Mechanical Engineer / Product Development Engineer, you will design and develop new and existing products, from concept through to commercial product.



Maintaining and improving market share, you will focus on reducing costs and widening the scope of the products’ applications. In addition to preparing a plan and budget for the proposed product development, you will also provide training to customers, project engineering, and production when required.



Your key duties will include:



- Preparing concepts of new, or improvements to existing, products

- Co-ordinating the production of prototypes

- Preparing technical documentation and obtaining relevant compliance certification



To be considered for this position, you must have:



- Proven mechanical engineering experience

- Extensive product development experience

- A mechanical engineering degree



As a Mechanical Engineer / Product Development Engineer, you must have a keen attention to detail and strong organisational skills. The ability to communicate effectively and work proactively within a team is also key.
