Senior Development Engineer - Manufacturing

Due to significant company growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Development Engineer to join our client, a leading provider of contact lens and lens care solutions. With satellite companies on five continents, they manufacture and market contact lenses and lens care products to eye care professionals in over fifty countries.
If you have a Physics, Mechanical Engineering or similar degree and a proven track record within a manufacturing environment – this is a great opportunity to join a global company. And as this is a newly created role, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to really make this role your own.
Working closely with the Technical Director, as the Senior Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing new contact lenses and working to improve existing products.
You will be involved in the whole process, from initial prototype stage through to full-scale production. In addition to your excellent project management skills, you must have strong communication skills in order to liaise effectively on all levels.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- experience gained within a manufacturing environment
- project management experience, including attending steering committee meetings
- a degree in physics, mechanical engineering or similar discipline
- a working knowledge of AutoCAD
As a Senior Development Engineer, you must have strong analytical and problem solving skills. A self-starter, you should be able to work with minimal supervision.
Although not essential, any experience in the contact lens industry would be an advantage to your application.
