Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Inspector / Quality Engineer to join their team
As a Mechanical Inspector / Quality Engineer, your focus will be on supporting our client’s mechanical manufacturing. This will include all aspects of machine shop inspection and the quality assurance of precision components used in electro-mechanical instrumentation, for use in oil and gas wells.
You will be tasked with conducting visual and detailed hand inspection against technical drawings. This will comprise first-off, batch and finished component parts, from both in-house machinists and sub-contractors.
Your key duties will include:
- troubleshooting and the dimensional analysis of machined components
- taking responsibility for the non-conformance process and documentation
- calibrating and maintaining shop floor and inspection instrumentation
To be considered for this position, you must:
- be a qualified engineer, with a degree, apprenticeship, HNC, BTEC or similar
- have a proven track record as a precision machinist or shop floor inspector
- have a GCSE in maths
As a Mechanical Inspector / Quality Engineer, you must be computer literate with the ability to work to deadlines. A strong attention to detail and good organisational skills are also key.
