Job Title: Senior Environmental Consultant (esia) Eden Scott
Description
Eden Scott’s client are a global renewable and engineering consultancy, who manage some of the worlds largest onshore and offshore wind and wave developments within the UK and Europe. Due to a continued period of growth they are keen to expand their teams and have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Consultant (ESIA) to join the business.

We are looking for an established environmental consultant with extensive experience in winning and undertaking Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) (and/or associated consent, assessment and due diligence work) within the energy sector. In this role we would like you to help us support the current focus on investments in ‘assets’ and our role as an independent global environmental and engineering consultancy. You would be responsible for jointly growing the management and delivery of EIA and due diligence work in the UK and overseas.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading EIA/ESHIA reviews and undertaking project management for large international EIA’s or for the UK Energy sector (wind, wave, tidal, oil and gas and carbon capture storage).
• Management of projects and budgets.
• Business Development and commercial input to fee’s and project risks.
• Assisting with the development of new products and service lines.
• Supporting more junior members of the team including providing Quality Assurance and Technical Reviews.
• Focus towards continuous personal development through learning and obtaining feedback both internally and externally, where appropriate.

Key Requirements:

Ideally you will be MSc qualified in EIA or Environmental Economics with a focus on environmental sciences or geography or hold a BA/Sociology degree focussed on social impact assessment. You will have proven experience and strong technical capability gained within a professional consultancy or export credit agency, as well as a technical specialism in EIA.
You will have proven experience in impact assessment including at least two of the following:

• International master planning;
• Social impact assessment or cost/benefit analysis;
• International environmental mitigation of projects;
• EIA lead for infranational investment (IFC, World Bank, ADB, etc); and International due diligence.
• Experience and understanding of Environmental Planning issues relevant to major energy development and infrastructure projects.
• A commercial and practical understanding of business and public inquiry experience.
• Understanding of environmental law, the EIA process, and relevant government policy (essential), particularly relating to the onshore renewables sector (desirable).

You will be highly motivated to form part of and assist in the management of a successful and rapidly growing consultancy. You will have a good network and knowledge of the energy sector and will generate and pursue new ways to expand the company’s presence through out the world and win new investment opportunities through your extensive experience of EIA and projects.
