The Role

Reporting into the Supply Chain Director, this role is tasked to provide engineering design, component and systems expertise to identify manufacturing solutions for projects generated within the NPD process, in addition these skills are also used to identify improvements to existing manufacturing processes and operations through the use of new technologies. You are expected to deliver against the project or improvement initiative time and quality expectations and provide the most cost effective solutions for the business, liaising with both the NPD teams and site manufacturing teams to ensure smooth progress and minimum disruption to the operation. In addition, the job holder will also give instructions to OEM’s and contractors as required, ensuring optimum innovation opportunities are identified and made available to manufacturing teams and engineering commonality and best practice linked to Group Engineering Standards

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be of graduate calibre and have a demonstrable track record from within the FMCG food and drink arena with a particular expertise in engineering development, design and project management within the context of continuous improvement / New Product / Process Development. We are looking for an innovative and creative thinker who can translate high level complex solutions into working practices. The ability to influence across multiple stake holders is essential as is the Experience in using the latest techniques to support creative problem solving (TRIZ etc). Given the nature of this role it is further expected that the ideal candidate will have an excellent relationship with the major food and drink OEM suppliers and therefore has the ability to identify appropriate partners
