Our client is the world’s leading independent supplier of specialist remotely controlled subsea vehicles and equipment. Serving the oil and gas, renewable, telecoms and military markets, they manufacture a variety of bespoke subsea equipment. An opportunity has now arisen for a Procurement Manager to join their team.

As a Procurement Manager, you will provide a complete procurement service to our client’s trenching, renewables and mining projects from bid stage through to project completion.
Your focus will be on developing a procurement strategy for materials and services required by our client in order to deliver business stream objectives. Developing and managing supply chain capacity and capability, you will ensure that vendors consistently meet specific performance requirements.
Your key duties will include:
- minimising cost and improving efficiency of the supply chain and procurement procedures
- purchasing long lead materials and services, ensuring they arrive on time, are to budget and appropriate quality
- supporting sales enquiries and project bids
- supervising project buyers, co-ordinating and allocating their work
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- substantial procurement experience, gained within an offshore or subsea engineering environment
- experience of procurement within the ISO 9001 quality system
- a proven track record of saving costs through negotiation and applying procurement techniques and best practices
- experience of purchasing fabrications, hydraulic, electrical and machined components
- a working knowledge of MRP or ERP systems
- a degree or other professional qualification, such as an MCIPS
As a Procurement Manager, you must be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Although not essential, procurement experience gained within a management role within a project based and/or repeat manufacture operation would be beneficial. Experience gained within a matrix organisation would also be advantageous.
